SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION? 
 
When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. 
When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system. 
Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates. 
 
SECTION 2 - CONSENT 
 
How do you get my consent? 
When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. 
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no. 
 
How do I withdraw my consent?

SECTION 3 - DISCLOSURE 
 
We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service. 
 
SECTION 4 - SHOPIFY 
 
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. As an online e-commerce platform, Shopify allows us to sell our products and services to you. 
Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. 
 
Payment: 
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, Shopify will store your credit card data with encryption through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only for as long as it is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. Once payment is complete, your purchase transaction information will be deleted. 
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. 
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

SECTION 5 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICES 
 
In general, third-party providers we engage will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they are contracted to provide us.  
However, select third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, may have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them to complete your purchase-related transactions. 
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies to better understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. 
Remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are set under elsewhere and thus fall under separate jurisdiction than the terms listed above. If you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, your information may become subject to the laws and jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located. 
As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act. 
Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements. 
Google Analytics: 
Our store uses Google Analytics to help us learn about who visits our site and what pages are being looked at. 
 
SECTION 6 - SECURITY 
 
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. 
If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with an AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional security measures which adhere to the generally accepted industry standards. 
 
SECTION 7 - COOKIES 
 
Here is a list of cookies that we use. We’ve listed them here so you that you can choose if you want to opt-out of cookies or not. 
_session_id, unique token, sessional, Allows Shopify to store information about your session (referrer, landing page, etc). 
_shopify_visit, no data held, Persistent for 30 minutes from the last visit, used by our website provider’s internal statistics tracker to record the number of visits 
_shopify_uniq, no data held, expires midnight (relative to the visitor) of the next day, Counts the number of visits to a store by a single customer. 
cart, unique token, persistent for 2 weeks, Stores information about the contents of your cart. 
_secure_session_id, unique token, sessional 
storefront_digest, unique token, indefinite If the shop has a password, this is used to determine if the current visitor has access. 
PREF, persistent for a very short period, set by Google to track who visits the store and from where 
 
 
SECTION 8 - AGE OF CONSENT 
 
By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site. 

 

SECTION 9 - USAGE OF SMART APPLICATIONS (PRISM+ CONNECT APPLICATION)


SECTION 9.1 - HOW WE COLLECT AND USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect and use your personal information legally, legitimately, and out of necessity for the purposes and scenarios described below. We will use your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and in compliance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA").


Our primary purposes include:

  • Customer Service: To address your inquiries and provide support.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: To diagnose issues, perform scheduled maintenance, and enhance the functionality of your connected smart appliances.
  • Marketing: To inform you about new products, services, and promotions, subject to your consent.
  • Provision of Functions and Services: To provide and enhance the functionalities of our products.

If we use your information for any purpose other than those specified in this Privacy Policy, we will seek your consent again in an appropriate manner in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and national standards.


SECTION 9.2 - REGISTRATION FOR PRISM+ CONNECT ACCOUNT

When you register with PRISM+ CONNECT, we collect the following information:

  • Full Name
  • Mobile Number
  • Email Address

Providing this information is mandatory for registration and to utilise the features provided by PRISM+ CONNECT. If you choose not to provide this information, you will not be able to register or use the application.


SECTION 9.3 - SMART DEVICE CONNECTION AND MANAGEMENT

When you pair any PRISM+ smart home device with PRISM+ CONNECT, we collect the following device-related information:

  • Product Serial Number
  • MAC Address of the Connected Smart Device
  • Wi-Fi Name and Password
  • Information and Records Generated from the Operation of the Device

This data is used to identify and connect the device to PRISM+ CONNECT, display the device status, set up routines, and manage the device operation. Failure to provide this information will prevent you from linking and controlling the device.
Additional Data Collected for Specific Devices:

  • Door Locks (Prism+ Sentinel and PRISM+ Sentinel Pro) and Gate Locks (Sentry and Sentry Pro):
    • Fingerprints: We may collect and store fingerprint data for access management.
    • Facial Recognition (Pro version only): We may collect and process facial recognition data for access management.
  • Smart Doorbell:
    • Camera and Photos: We may collect and store video footage, images, and photos for monitoring entry points to your home.
    • Voice and Voice Recording: We may collect and store voice data and recordings for security and communication purposes.

Refusal to provide biometric or multimedia information may limit your ability to fully utilise these security features.


SECTION 9.4 - USER-GRANTED PERMISSIONS

We request the following permissions to provide full functionality of the PRISM+ CONNECT application:

  • Location: To manage and track smart devices and schedule maintenance services.
  • Contacts: To enable the sharing of devices and manage shared access.
  • Camera, Microphone, and Storage: To operate the smart doorbell’s functionality, including recording video, capturing images, and storing these recordings.

Refusal to grant these permissions may limit access to some functionalities of the application.


SECTION 9.5 - GEOFENCING AND INSIGHTS

  • Geofencing: For devices such as air conditioners, door locks, and gate locks, the PRISM+ CONNECT application may use location data to provide geofencing functionalities. This means the app will track your location to notify you to turn on or off these devices based on your proximity. Location data is used solely for this purpose and will not be used for any other purposes without your explicit consent.
  • Insights and Event Logs: The application may collect and store usage data from all connected products, including but not limited to ambient temperature, humidity, usage patterns, hours of use, changes in device states, PM2.5 values, and access logs. This data is used to provide insights into your device usage and to help you monitor and manage your smart devices more effectively. The collected data will be presented to you through the application to enhance your user experience. The data collected may also be used to send you maintenance reminders related to your smart home devices. This ensures that your devices remain in optimal working condition and that you are informed of any necessary actions to maintain their performance.

SECTION 9.6 - DEVICE SHARING

When you share devices with other PRISM+ CONNECT account holders, access to your phone's contact book may be required to facilitate this process. This allows you to select contacts to share devices with and manage permissions. Your contact information is used solely for this purpose and will not be used for any other purposes without your explicit consent.


SECTION 9.7 - THIRD-PARTY DISCLOSURE

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We will not share your personal information with any company, organisation, or individual other than PRISM+ unless explicitly agreed by you or required by law.
If you authorise the use of our products and services via Google Home, you are permitting Google Home to access your connected devices to provide voice assistant capabilities. We encourage you to review Google Home's privacy policy to understand their data practices.


SECTION 9.8 - DATA PROTECTION AND SECURITY

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption, secure servers, and regular security audits.


SECTION 9.9 - DATA RETENTION AND DISPOSAL

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. When your personal information is no longer needed, we will securely dispose of it in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.


SECTION 9.10 - ACCESS AND CORRECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

You have the right to access and correct your personal data. To make a request, please contact us at support@prismplus.sg. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time frame and ensure that any necessary corrections are made.


SECTION 9.11 - CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be communicated to you through the PRISM+ CONNECT application or via email. Continued use of the application after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.


SECTION 10 - CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
